Michael Wagner · 10
The Albatross, Kragner, Mickey, Wags
Ht: 6' 3"
Wt: 190 lb
Pos: DE,TE,2B
A ferocious defensive end with lighting quick reflexes and first step. Armed with the strength and reach of a heavy weight champion once Mike gets in range of the passer he might as well tuck the ball and pray. Known for his heads up strips and infamous spin tackles, Mike is your passing games worst nightmare. With his incredible reach, Mike can shut down an entire corner on the field. Mike is also a strong blocker and can be dangerous disguised as a blocking tight end. On the diamond mike is no slouch either. The classic contact hitter with a solid amount of pop, Mike is some one you definitely want to keep off base, because he is no picnic on the base paths. His strong instincts and long strides make him a threat to score from first on any gapper. Defensively mike does not fit the typical second baseman’s mold but you couldn’t tell the difference as he ranges to either side of his body seamlessly and always seems to make spot on throws to first. Mike might be a beast on the field but off it he’s a gentle giant. He is best known for his incredibly thoughtful birthday and Christmas gifts and his legendary Fourth of July parties where you can be sure he will lose his legs.
Sean Sciretta · 16
McRettna Jones, Sean Falco
Ht: 5' 9"
Wt: 187 lb
Pos: QB/FS CF
While watching the MEAT play you might think they have three Seans on the team, but it really just seems that way because he is always in the right place at the right time. Sean is a huge catalyst in the secondary for the MEAT and has come up with many huge picks. Offensively he is a do it all QB with the speed of Vick, the smarts of Manning and a cannon for an arm. As good as Sean is at Football he really shines on the softball field. Incredible versatility is his calling card. Play him any where, hit him any where and watch him make dazzling play after dazzling play and crush pitch after pitch. Primarily Sean plays center field for the MEAT and shows shades of Willie Mays out there. The look on opposing base runners when he makes perfect throws to gun them out taking that extra base is priceless. Sean is blessed with the speed of a lead off hitter but is used mostly in the middle of the line-up because of his great power and his ability to come through with runners on base. Off the field Sean is a party animal of legendary proportions and no one has given the MEAT more hilarious drunken memories, most of which involve him being naked.
John Michallangeli · 21
J-Sac, Izz
Ht: 5' 9"
Wt: 140 lb
Pos: OL/DL C
John is the biggest team player for the MEAT. As an offensive lineman John is unselfish and will play in the dirt down after down without stop. In the last few years, John has been working on technique and has greatly improved over the last two seasons with guidance from MEAT mate Joe. John also doubles as third string quarterback, behind Sean and Sean. For a time, John even had a perfect QB rating. On defense, John gets time as a walk off linebacker and works heavily with Defensive end Mike Wagner. John is known for getting a hand in gang tackles and taking on lineman more than twice his size, a mere 150 lbs. When the MEAT hits paydirt, John is always fired up as if he scored and always picks up his teammates.
Thomas Morlando · 18
T, T-Mac, Everytime, Double R
Ht: 5' 8"
Wt: 170 lb
Pos: WR/CB RF
Tommy is perhaps the most unassuming member of the MEAT. But once you witness T in action, it’s no surprise he is the MEAT’s #1 receiver. In short yardage, Tommy has the field awareness of a hawk and dodges tacklers like he dodges the hoes. But downfield is where Tom is most lethal, especially when paired off with Sean McRettna. It’s not uncommon to see T with two steps on a d-back. When the ball goes up, T-mac is the only one catching it and T-mac is the only one coming down with it. Tommy is a baller and a player. He knows he deserves the ball so just give it to him. On defense, Tommy carries over his knowledge of the passing game into the secondary. Whenever T feels like it, he can come up with a big pick for the team. But of course that’s only when T feels like it.
Joseph Nacinovich · 57
Joe Studd, Fuddd
Ht: 6' 3"
Wt: 240 lb
Pos: OL/DL/P 1B/C
Quickness, grace, overwhelming talent, none of these words comes to mind while describing this guy. However, he makes up for his lack of agility with his size, strength, and never ending hustle. He has been described by teammates as deceptively fast. On the Gridiron Joe is a primarily a lineman on both sides of the ball. On Offense he is a fierce blocker who would rather give up an arm before he gave up a sack, and always seems to bust open holes for big runs. On defense Joe is a handful for most lineman and does a great job shutting down the between tackles running game. In pass rushing situations Joe gets deep penetration which leads to a lot of sacks by his partner in crime, Mike. He is also used as a blocking full back that gets the occasional short yardage carry. Joe is also the MEAT’s punter and can be counted on for long, high punts perfect for causing downfield tackles and bad starting field position. On the softball field Joe is both a first baseman and a catcher. At first Joe gets to most balls hit his way and is a nice big target for the rest of the infielders. Behind the plate Joe really gets the job done very nicely. He isn’t afraid to get down and block a ball or protect the plate from someone trying to score a run. With the bat Joe is the perfect middle of the lineup guy. He usually makes good contact and seems to find the holes in the defense. Once on base Joe is not that fleet of foot but makes up for it by reading balls very well and getting good jumps. Off the field Joe maintains an almost unhealthy competitive spirit similar to the one he shows on the field, but is really just a fun loving guy. He loves to make people laugh and have a good time with his friends at his house: The Nacinoranch.
Daniel Grill · 3
D Grill, Nillet, G Skillet
Ht: 5' 9"
Wt: 220 lb
Pos: RB/MLB SS
Dan, D. Grill, Nillet, G Skillet, whatever you call him, you better respect the skill. D. Grill is the third part of the MEAT backfield and plays off the finesse of the other backs perfectly with hard gained yards. Seeing Dan in action brings visions of Jerome Bettis, only whiter. Anytime Dan has the ball you are likely to see up to 5 defenders attempting to take him down and getting dragged downfield. Meeting Dan in the open field is about as pleasant as a date with an 18 wheeler. Once Danny finds his seam the secondary better pray because it takes more than one defender to take him down. It’s a wonder why the MEAT doesn’t run between the tackles more often. On the other side of the ball, Danny is just as formidable. The effectiveness of Wagner and Joe on D Line affords Dan the freedom to play as a walk off linebacker and he sure can tear it up. Trying to run up the middle is pretty much pointless. Danny shuts down an entire third of the field and frees up the rest of the MEAT for coverage linebackers.
Nicola Trivigno · 9
Big Poppa, Mr. Victory
Ht: 6' 0"
Wt: 215 lb
Pos: WR/SS
Nick is as easy going as they come on and off the field but his demeanor doesn’t stop him from being a handful when it comes to both softball and football. His relaxed attitude allows him to always keep his head in any situation and make all the right plays. Nick is a joy to watch and play with because he makes everything he does seem relatively effortless. He barely looks like he’s running hard yet he flies passed defensive backs. He barely looks like he swings hard yet he sends the ball flying more consistently then any other player on the team. On the gridiron Nick is a wide receiver in the mold of guys like Hines Ward and Terrell Owens, extremely physical with the speed to break the big play. On defense Nick is a hard hitter with the size, strength, speed, and instinct to play virtually any position on defense very well. Nick really starts to shine in the summer when softball time rolls around. Nick is the MEAT’s biggest power threat; every time he steps in the box you get the feeling he can put one out. Nick can be used as an infielder or as an outfielder but is good either way. He has a strong arm and very good range in the infield. He is also a very heads up base runner and never makes a mistake on the base paths. In his free time Nick loves to grow afros and chill with his boys. Whether he’s chillin’ at a bar or at someone’s house he’s guaranteed to keep every one laughing hysterically.
Vincent Mazzurco · 41
V I N G, Ving-Ender, Frostbite
Ht: 5' 9"
Wt: 170 lb
Pos: RB/OLB, Util
Vince can pump up the intensity like no other on the football field; whether it’s with a big hit or a big run he sets the tone for the team. His tremendous work ethic has turned him into an animal on both sides of the ball. The average player will tire as a long, hard game goes on but Vince seems to get better. Offensively Vince is a third of the MEAT’s three headed monster at halfback and devastates the opposition with a perfect combo of speed and power. Defensively, Vince is a true player maker. Whether he’s playing the run or the pass he always seems to make the big play when it is needed the most. Vince is a team leader with very little talk. He leads by example on every play and never takes a down off. When he subs out you can feel the void on the field. As far as softball goes Vince is a great football player, but as he does in all things he gives it maximum effort and can really give a spark to the team with a big play. Off the field and out of the gym, Vince is a totally different guy. He loves to party and he loves beer and will always go the extra mile to meet his brothers for a good time.
